Enjoy guided meditations which are the very heart and core of the Himalayan Tradition to stabilize, nourish, heal, and awaken joy and abundance in your life, and in your heart. That's what this CD is about: creating healing change and awakening essence in your heart and mind. My experience is this is a very beautiful, powerful, and effective pathway to transformation. In this meditation CD, I will lead you through a simple step by step process I learned from my teachers which shows you how to collect your attention and your energy so that you can begin the process of meditation.
You think you can't meditate? (I hear that frequently.) You haven't learned this method, and/or you don't understand the way the mind works.
In this meditation practice, we will utilize some of our most precious resources: attention, pranic energy, and silent sound. Each of these resources is available inside us, and we use these resources every day in our lives, consciously or unconsciously. This practice is a systematic way to learn and enhance your ability to use them consciously, for a particular purpose. A wonderful purpose: your well-being physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Here's an example about one of those resources - silent sound. There's an ancient story in the Yoga tradition, about a Yoga student who wanted to receive a Mantra (a phrase to meditate on) from a master teacher. The teacher told him he was not ready for the mantra, and that first he must go sit in a field and meditate on a cow for a while. The story goes that the student repeatedly came back to the teacher and said something like, "I'm ready; please give me the mantra now." His teacher repeatedly said, "No, you're not ready." Eventually a cow came to the teacher, and the teacher said, "Now you're ready."

The student became what he meditated on.
At the most basic level, we all are already doing this in our lives. What we think about the most defines us. Here's an ancient idea: "You are what your deep driving desire is As your deep driving desire is, so is your will As your will is so is your deed As your deed is so is your destiny." -Maitri Upanishad
The way we circulate our driving desires is with our thoughts. In a sense, we are meditating, or focusing, on our thoughts all the time. If you pay attention, you may discover that you have many of the same thoughts over and over, with variations. This is a function of the mind: to think and make up stories.
In the new age movement, affirmations are popular. However, affirmations affect the conscious mind, and do not necessarily affect the unconscious mind, where our deepest desires and even our soul, or essence self resides. And a person may practice affirmation with only a small portion of their actual resources deposited into the practice, e.g. while you're repeating the affirming statement, you may also be thinking about this, that, and the other - you know, the usual stuff you think about.
Mantra meditation is a way to plant seed qualities - healing and loving and powerful seed qualities - into the unconscious mind, so that these qualities bloom into our daily lives.
